With 65,000 covered seats, this is Portugal’s largest stadium and is the home of the mighty Benfica.

Attention has been paid to retaining the style of the original stadium known to local fans as ‘the cathedral’.

How to get there

The Estádio da Luz is situated in the northern part of Lisbon, 5km north west of the city centre and 20 minutes from the main railway station to the nearest Metro station - the Colegio Militar-Luz.

From here
it’s just a short walk. Buses 4, 64, 65 and 109 run to Av. Colégio Militar
and is well served by the city's road system.

Colégio Militar/Luz is also served by a large number of bus lines, including suburban buses from the outskirts of Lisbon and Carris buses from the city centre. There are plenty of buses from Portugal's main cities to Lisbon.

Lisbon International Airport is less than 15 minutes away.
