Jamie Carragher: "I'm glad we have him in the squad," says Tord.
Don't underestimate Carra
Tuesday, 08 June 2004.
England coach Tord Grip is happy that Jamie Carragher is in the squad for Euro 2004 and says that the Liverpool defender must not be underestimated.
Sven selected 26-year-old Carragher as a replacement for John Terry in Saturday's friendly against Iceland, and he could well figure against France on Sunday, should the Chelsea man fail to recover from his hamstring strain.
""Jamie is an underestimated player. I'm glad we have him in the squad," said the Swede when he spoke to TheFA.com.
"After his injury he came back very quickly. His ambition saw him go straight into team and he played every game, he played left back, right back and for the last two or three games he played at centre back too.
"He's a versatile player and very reliable and he'll become better and better."
