France's Tottenham bound Head Coach Jacques Santini.
Friday, 11 June 2004.
Santini needed to rebuild French confidence in the national team after taking over in the immediate aftermath of the disastrous World Cup 2002 campaign when Les Blues failed to win or even score a single goal.

Santini kept faith with Fabien Barthez and Claude Makelele even though they were out of favour at club level and he was repaid with superb performance as France cruised effortlessly through qualification for Euro 2004.
The confidence has now returned and Santini has vowed to use the disappointment of the World Cup to motivate his squad to retain the European Championship title.
