Lions slip to defeat

England lose opening match of Four Nations Tournament.
The England Under-23 team slipped to a 2-1 defeat to Norway in their opening match of the Four Nations Tournament in La Manga. Laura Coombs scored England’s goal.
Brent Hills has taken his squad to Spain for this annual friendly tournament and will be reporting back to Hope Powell, National Coach of the Senior side, on the players’ progress.
In recent years, Natasha Dowie, Rachel Williams, Fern Whelan and Dani Buet have all graduated from the Under-23s to the senior side and this week’s games will allow the current intake to become further accustomed to the intricacies of tournament football.
England take on USA on Tuesday, followed by Sweden on Thursday.
