Brent Hills has named his squad for this Saturday's trip to Sweden.
England's U21s take on Sweden on Saturday afternoon at the Vimarvallen Stadium in Vimmerby, as they build-up for this year's Nordic Cup campaign.Brent Hills and Assistant Coach Mo Marley (pictured) have named a mix of experienced players and up-and-coming talent from the U19 side, as Brent told TheFA.com that as many players will be given game time, if they prove their worth this week in training.
"This game is a good chance for players like Siobhan Chamberlain and Laura Bassett to keep sharp ahead of the Senior game against Hungary next week" said Brent, "and for some of the younger players to impress me ahead of the games against Sweden, Germany and Finland between 16-20 July.
"The players in this squad will have the chance to play their way into Nordic Cup contention, and also use this test against one of the top nations in Europe to mark their own individual progress this season."
One player who is new to the squad is Barnet striker Stacey Sowden, but her call-up is well-merited, according to Brent. "Stacey has been instrumental in helping Barnet regain promotion to The FA Women's Premier League Southern Division next season.
"I have watched her, as have two of our scouts on a number of occasions this season, and with six teams involved in National League fixtures this weekend, she has earned her chance to come into the squad, gain some valuable experience of the international game, and show myself and Mo what she can do."
