The tournament gets underway in earnest for the Women's U20s.
We woke up at 7.30am. The sun was brighter than ever in Augsburg, setting the scene for another scorching day and for team England U20s to get their World Cup campaign up and running.
Everyone was feeling lively and more of the nervous energy filtered through the squad, we just wanted to skip breakfast and get out there. However, time flew and before we knew it we were on the team bus and heading through Augsburg towards the Impuls arena.
We get the beats on in the changing rooms as we change into our match kit. Relaxed but ready.
After the match back on the bus towards the hotel, where we ate some lunch and got changed into our swimming gear and went to the pool. Recovery for the Mexico game starts now!
Before dinner we watched the second half and analysed in our units. This is important for us because we can observe ourselves and other units and see how we can improve for the next game. There’s always room for improvement.
That night was a chance to speak to our families back at the hotel, for those whose friends and families had travelled and spend some time with them.
Even some of the staff’s friends and family had travelled out, a special mention to Amanda, our number one fan! And to Kylie’s Dad who gave us all an England flag each to put on our balconies!
Bring on the next game!
