In preparation for the upcoming FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup, England Head Coach Mo Marley will take 24 players to La Manga for an acclimatisation training camp on 20 June.

Of the 24, 15 helped England reach the Final of the UEFA European Women’s U19 Championship in Macedonia last week and in Ashley Baker, Rebecca Spencer, Kerys Harrop, Chelsea Weston, Toni Duggan and Jade Moore, Marley’s squad boasts six players who featured in the U20 World Cup in 2008.

The World Cup gets underway in July and it is being staged in Germany. England have been drawn in Group C alongside Nigeria (who the Three Lions will face on 14 July), Mexico (17 July) and Japan (21 July).

What Do You Think?

  • I fully agree with Johno, why can't we have the same coverage for the women's youth sides that the men's teams get. I never contribute to these forums but felt strongly enough about this to do so. These young women deserve better coverage especially in view of what they are achieving.By Jayne (34 months ago)
  • Nice feature.....BUT... why is there no LINK to the England Women's U 20s on the Home Page? You have a link to the men's U 20s !!! It could feature their games in the forthcoming World Cup....venus ...times...opposition. Interviews with players and coaching staff, video links.....you know, all the stuff that the boys' teams get!!! There are just 5 weeks to go before their World Cup starts.....please can we have some EQUALITY! They are all ENGLAND teams!!! By Johno (34 months ago)
