Elin Rubensson penalty gives Sweden 1-0 over England in Turkey
England slipped to defeat in their opening game of the UEFA European Women’s U19 Championship Finals.
An Elin Rubensson penalty after 31 minutes gave Sweden a narrow 1-0 win against the 2009 winners.
Mo Marley’s young side had almost 20 shots at goal but were unable to find an equaliser in the heat of Mardan Sport Complex in Antalya, Turkey.
They have the chance to bounce back in their second group game, against Spain on Thursday night.
