England were held to a draw in their second encounter in Group A, a result that maintains their standing at the top of the group going into the final round of matches.
Everton striker Natasha Dowie had struck in injury time at the end of the first-half, but Ebere Orji levelled the scores with 19 minutes of the game left and neither side could find a winning goal leaving both sides poised on four points.
The opening minutes of the game were tight, with the first chance only arriving on 19 minutes, when England's Natasha Dowie shot from distance. Nigeria replied immediately, with Ebere Orji having two chances in quick succession.
Another long-range English shot, this time from Jessica Clarke, hit the crossbar on 32 minutes, and Mo Marley's side went ahead just before the half-time interval. Dowie wriggled down the right and sent in a cross-shot from a tight angle, which Nigerian keeper Marbel Egwuenu could not hold.
Nigeria went onto the offensive in the second period, and after a number of chances, drew level in the 71st minute. From a long-range free kick, Orji pounced when the ball rebounded from the crossbar, and stabbed the ball past Rebecca Spencer at the second attempt.
Although Nigeria had the better of the final minutes, it was England who crafted the final chance, when Dowie's header from close range just before the whistle was brilliantly saved by Egwuenu.
