Ahead of the second round of qualifiers for next season’s UEFA European Women’s U17 Championship, Lois Fidler will take her Young Lions to France later this month for a testing double-header against Francisco Rubio’s side.

Both nations are in the hat for the second round draw - which will take place on 16 November - courtesy of being among the best runners-up from the first qualifying round, and this game will allow Fidler to begin her preparations for those April qualifiers.

Fidler has kept faith with 15 players who helped fire the Three Lions into the second round, with Sophie Harris, Abbey-Leigh Stringer and Jessica Round coming in to complete the squad. England defeated Turkey (2-0) and Armenia (7-0) and drew 0-0 with Belgium last month.

The two teams will first lock horns at Stade Municipal Paul Chandon on Tuesday 23 November and the second match will take place on Thursday 25 November, the same day Mo Marley's U19 team host their French equivalents at Sixfields Stadium, home of Northampton Town.
