Women's Final live on BBC
Tuesday, 08 September, 2009
England's Euro 2009 Final against Germany will be broadcast live on BBC2.
The England Women's side are currently travelling to Helsinki where, on Thursday, they will take on Germany in the Final of the European Championship, a match you can watch live on BBC2.
The Final will kick-off at 5pm (BST), with coverage starting at 4.45pm.
After qualifying from a group which included Italy, Russia and Sweden, England then defeated the hosts, Finland, in the quarter final before overcoming Holland in the last four.
Germany, looking for their fifth straight title, won all of their group games, against Norway, France and Iceland, before seeing off Italy in the quarters. Three second-half goals ensured defeat of Norway in the semi-final.
It is the England Women's team's first European Final since 1984, when they lost to Sweden over two legs.
The Prime Minister, Gordon Brown, and Conservative Party Leader, David Cameron, have both sent private letters to Hope Powell congratulating her and the England Women's squad on reaching the Final, and they both wish them the very best of luck for Thursday evening in Helsinki.
