Goalscorers Toni Duggan and Rachel Williams reflected on a “hectic” Cyprus Cup encounter with Scotland that ended 4-4.
The duo spoke to FATV after the eight-goal thriller in Larnaca and although they were happy not to have lost the game, they know there is room for improvement ahead of the final group match, against New Zealand on Monday.
Duggan made her first senior team start and scored her first goal at this level, too, but she knows there is more to come both from her and the team.
She said: “I was really happy to get my first start and it’s always good as a striker to score but I’d have sacrificed that goal for the team winning.
“As a team we set our standards high individually and collectively and I don’t think we lived up to them, but we’re going to have dips in form and good teams dig the results out and that’s what we did.
“We got the draw and it was positive that we never lost the game. But we’ll go back to the drawing board now and work on what went wrong."
