Alex Scott revealed her pride at leading England out for the very first time.
The right-back donned the captain’s armband during Wednesday’s 4-2 win over Italy in the Cyprus Cup, inspiring her team-mates to come from 2-1 down.
Scott told FATV: “It was a really proud moment for me.
“Obviously Casey [Stoney] is our captain but she wasn’t playing so for me to get that job was a really proud moment and I feel really honoured.
"There was a lot of positives [we can take] from the game. We just need to work on things going forward but it was a great result against Italy, who have also qualified for the Euros.
“We prepared well, the girls have been working hard in training and I think our passing at times was really spot on.”
