Fern Whelan made her senior team debut in 2011.

The pacy centre-back won a number of caps at youth level and captained England at the FIFA Women's U20 World Cup in 2008.

She finally made her senior team breakthrough against Sweden in May, coming off the bench for Casey Stoney in the 87th minute.

Whelan made her competitive debut against Slovenia in September's Euro 2013 qualifier in Swindon, replacing Sophie Bradley after 76 minutes. And having made an impression on the senior team in 2011, Whelan can expect a few more call-ups from Hope Powell in the next 12 months.

You can vote for Fern, or any of the other 26 players to have played for England in 2011 below.
