Tickets go on sale today for an England Football Party at Salford City Stadium, home of Rugby League side Salford City Reds and Rugby Union side Sale Sharks, and fans are being urged to buy in advance to avoid disappointment.
The Football Association and Manchester County FA have lined up an afternoon of family friendly activities from 3pm on Sunday 17 June outside the ground while the England Women’s team headline the event with a crucial Euro 2013 qualifier against Holland (kick off 5.15pm).
The party is in the middle of Euro 2012 and England fans are urged to come along ready for a party with wigs and face paint and fancy dress and be prepared to make some noise.
Entry is free for U12s and all children will receive an England party bag packed with goodies.
Holland currently sit atop qualifying Group 6, with England close behind in second. Only the top-placed nation will qualify for next year’s Euro Finals in Sweden.
Hope Powell, England’s National Coach, said: “It’s a crucial match for us and we need some vocal support.
“We want the fans to really enjoy the day – especially all the children invited – from the party atmosphere outside to the skill and entertainment we can provide on the pitch as one of the top ten teams in the world.”
