England Women's forward Eniola Aluko becomes Emma Hayes's first Blues signing
Eniola Aluko has re-joined her former club Chelsea Ladies.
The England Women’s forward has signed for the Londoners from Birmingham City, who she helped win The FA Women’s Cup for the first-ever time last season.
25-year-old Aluko was on Chelsea’s books in the 2007-08 season before she spent two fruitful years in America with St. Louis Athletica, Atlanta Beat and Sky Blue.
Aluko has earned 63 England caps, scoring 12 goals. She was particularly impressive towards the end of 2012, putting in a Player of the Match performance against Holland and scoring in the 3-0 win over Croatia that clinched the Three Lions’ place at Euro 2013.
Chelsea boss Emma Hayes told Chelsea's official website: “Eniola brings a huge amount of knowledge into a young squad and a strong winning mentality.
“With her experience of the American game and international competitions, Eniola's a great addition for the team and one we're really looking forward to adding to the squad.”
