Karen Carney started her weekend with a real roar when she met the lions at West Midland Safari Park on Saturday.

The 25-year-old is in action for England at Walsall's Banks’s Stadium on Wednesday 19 September when Hope Powell’s side will attempt to get the win that will send them to the Euro 2013 Finals in Sweden.

Carney was beaming with pride when she was photographed alongside the park’s famous white lions and she is hoping they will ‘roar’ England on to three crucial qualifying points later this month.
