27 in the running for the England Women's Player of 2011.

Voting for the Vauxhall England Women’s Player of the Year is now open and gives the fans' chance to have their say on who they think has been the star performer for Hope Powell’s side in 2011.

The player with the most votes after the polls close at midnight on Sunday 8 January 2011 will be crowned the Player of the Year and will be presented with a commemorative trophy.

Since the turn of the year Powell has used 27 different players in 14 international fixtures as England reached the World Cup quarter final in Germany.

England’s record in 2011 reads like this: Played 14, Won 8, Drawn 4, Lost 2, Goals For 22, Goals Against 10.

Only Casey Stoney has appeared in every England game this calendar year, while Alex Scott, Rachel Unitt and Ellen White follow closely behind on 13 appearances. Karen Bardsley and Rachel Yankey both earned 12 caps.

The joint top scorers in 2011 were Ellen White and Rachel Yankey with four goals. Jill Scott and Jess Clarke both scored three times.

2011 was a memorable year for Everton defender Fern Whelan, who made her senior team against Sweden in May, and Rachel Williams, who scored her first senior goal, against Slovenia in September.
