England players Katie Chapman and Fara Williams made a special guest appearance

England players Katie Chapman and Fara Williams made a special guest appearance on Children's BBC on Wednesday. As part of the CBBC 'Kick-off' week previewing the 2002 FIFA World Cup, the girls were in the studio to talk about how they got involved with the biggest female sport.

Williams, who is just 18 years old, broke into the England senior team in November last year and recently picked up the Umbro Young Player Of The Year at the 4th Annual FA Women's Football Awards. Williams was joined by a girls team from her former school in London, who gave a skills demonstration.

Chapman, who plays professional football in midfield with Fulham, said: "I just got involved through playing with the boys at primary school. I've always played football and this is a great time to get involved as women's football is now the No.1 female sport."

"If you want to get involved you should just ring The FA's hotline and they will help you find a club to play for."

The local-rate FA Girls Football Get Involved hotline is: 0845 310 8555.
