Wales manager John Toshack anticipates international derby.

UEFA Euro 2012
Poland and Ukraine
Qualifying Draw

Group G England, Switzerland, Bulgaria, Wales, Montenegro

After England were drawn against neighbours Wales in UEFA Euro 2012 qualifying Group G, Wales manager John Toshack said he cannot wait for two “huge” clashes against Fabio Capello’s side.

The old rivalry will be renewed when qualifying starts in September and is the standout fixture in a group that also includes Switzerland, Bulgaria and Montenegro. The last time the Three Lions came up against Wales, Joe Cole scored the winner in a 1-0 triumph at the Millennium Stadium in September 2005 in a qualifier for 2006 World Cup.

Toshack said: “The game that everybody will be wanting to see is the England match.

“We are a very young side, but we’re progressing nicely and I would like to think we will have a go at that one.

“England is a big, big game for us. It’s huge. We know all about them, they know all about us.

“Our Under-21s had two super matches against them recently and a lot of those players are now in the full side now, so hopefully they can produce the same kind of performance.

“Our boys will be well motivated for the England game, there’s no doubt about that. We can just look forward to it now.”
