England have been named among the eight seeded nations for Friday’s World Cup draw. The other seven seeds are Brazil, Spain, Germany, Argentina, Holland, World Cup hosts, South Africa and World Cup holders, Italy. The seedings were based on October’s FIFA World Rankings.
The draw, which will take place in Cape Town at 5.45pm (GMT), will pitch the 32 qualified nations into eight groups of four and the seedings ensures England cannot be drawn alongside any of the aforementioned nations.
England qualified for the World Cup in impressive fashion, winning nine of their ten Qualifiers, scoring 34 goals in the process.
