Owen Hargreaves believes the England national team will only feel the benefit after a host of players finished the season with winners' medals.
Hargreaves himself lifted the Champions League and Premier League trophy with Manchester United along with Rio Ferdinand, Wes Brown and Wayne Rooney, while David James and Glen Johnson helped Portsmouth to win The FA Cup.
And while Chelsea players such as Ashley Cole, John Terry, Frank Lampard and Joe Cole may have ended the domestic season empty-handed, Hargreaves feels there are plenty of winners in the England set-up.
"It's not just the Manchester United players - we've got winners across the board," he explained.
"Chelsea have been extremely successful in the last few years and won titles and trophies, while Steven Gerrard won the Champions League with Liverpool. And David James and Glen Johnson have won The FA Cup this season as well.
"Winning breeds confidence and I am sure a lot of the players are on a high and that can only be positive for the whole squad."
