England's latest call-up Jimmy Bullard says the chance to represent his country completes his remarkable comeback from a career-threatening knee injury.
Bullard, who dislocated his knee cap while playing for Fulham against Newcastle two years ago, says overcoming the injury has made him a stronger character.
He adds that the call-up to Fabio Capello's squad for the World Cup qualifiers against Andorra and Croatia is the highlight of his career.
"I have never represented England at any level so to be called up at 29 is fantastic for me," said Bullard.
"The injury made me a lot stronger mentally. There are a lot of tough times when you are coming back - it is not a steady rise. There are a lot of dips in your rehab and that definitely makes you a stronger person as well as a footballer."
