Ernst Happel Stadion, Vienna

90+3'  The referee calls time on the game - all eyes now fall on Russia's trip to Israel on Saturday.

90'  Bentley goes on a good run before delivering a cross to the far post. Crouch, watching from the bench, would have loved that.

86'  Austria make another change, bringing on Martin Hiden for Martin Stanzl.

85'  Time is ticking on for the home side to find a route back into the game. Kiernast tries his luck but blasts horribly wide.

83'  Ashley Young looks comfortable on the left, confident enough to show an array of tricks.

82'  Austria put together one of their best moves of the evening which results in a corner. England defend it well though.

78'  Veli Kavlak, the youngest player in the Austrian squad, is brought on for Joachim Standfest.

75'  The game is beginning to get stretched with both sides looking for a goal. The hosts are beginning to look more dangerous.

73'  Alan Smith is brought on to replace England's goalscorer Peter Crouch.

72'  Leitgeb drives through the middle of the England midfield but his shot from 25 yards slices wide.

70'  A tireless Lampard finds a spare yard on the edge of the box, an invitation he accepts but his 20 yard effort flies wide.

69'  The home side enjoy a period of sustained pressure but England look to hit on the counter-attack with Lampard.

66'  Crouch is about to pull the trigger after Lampard set him up but a timely intervention stole the ball off his toe.

65'  Yuksel Sariyar is replaced by Martin Harnik as Austria make another change.

61'  David Beckham comes off for David Bentley, the Blackburn Rovers winger winning his second England cap.

60'  Richards does wonderfully well to recover after giving the ball away, sprinting back to stop Roman Kiernast.

58'  What a chance for England. Young picks out Crouch with a pinpoint cross but Manninger makes a super save to deny the Liverpool man.

57'  The hosts have a shout for a penalty turned down when Brown tangles with Ivanschitz but the referee signals a goal kick.

56'  Ashley Young shows good feet to work an opening but his shot is wayward to say the least, troubling the corner flag.

54'  Austria are trying to get a foothold in the game but it's been a fruitless evening so far for the hosts.

52'  Gareth Barry gets involved straight away, busily distributing the ball from the middle of the park.

49'  England carry on where they left off in the first half, controlling possession and looking comfortable on the ball.

46'  Ashley Young, making his debut, looks to get an early touch as play resumes. He's the 45th player McClaren has used.

46'  McClaren has made three changes - Young, Barry, Brown for Campbell, Cole and Gerrard. Austria made two changes.

45+4'  The referee has blown for half-time with England leading through Crouch's goal.

44'  GOAL! England are ahead through Crouch after the tall striker leaps highest to head in Beckham's corner.

43'  England should be ahead after two great chances - Cole denied by Manninger's brave block and Crouch by a defender.

42'  Austria mount a rare attack with Ivanschitz breaking through only to be thwarted by Micah Richards' well-timed tackle.

39'  England win a free-kick in a promising position but Beckham's delivery comes to nothing.

37'  Austria seem content just to sit back and counter-attack which allows England to dominate possession.

34'  A sight no England fan wants to see - Owen limping off - but it's a chance for Jermain Defoe to show what he can do.

32'  Brilliant move from England - Cole to Gerrard to Crouch, backheel to Owen whose shot is superbly tipped over by Manninger.

30'  The England fans break out into a loud version of 'God Save The Queen' but there has been little so far to warm their cockles.

28'  Gerrard finds Beckham with a super pass through the middle and the former England skipper is crudely fouled. His free-kicks hits the wall.

26'  Jurgen Macho is stretchered off after colliding with Crouch and is replaced by former Arsenal keeper Alex Manninger.

22'  Beckham delivers a wonderful pass from inside his half towards Crouch but an Austrian defender nods it behind.

19'  Crouch and Cole link up well allowing the latter to unload from 25 yards but it flies over the bar.

18'  England win another header. This time Beckham's delivery is spot-on but Richards can only send his header looping wide.

17'  Sol Campbell sends Ivanschitz flying in the centre circle, the Austrian skipper bouncing off the big centre-half.

15'  Michael Owen is brought down on the edge of the box but advantage is given allowing Lampard to let fly straight at Franz Schiemer.

14'  Joe Cole is unfortunate to be penalised when he appeared to win the ball fairly. Referee Nicolai Vollquartz didn't agree.

13'  Crouch wins a free-kick after stealing the ball on the half-way line - excellent worth from the big man who lacked support.

12'  England enjoy a lengthy period of possession but Austria's defence have the shackles firmly on Owen and Crouch.

10'  England win two corners in quick succession but on both occasions Beckham fails to beat the first man.

9'  The dangerous Ivanschitz dinks the ball past Lampard and sprints into the box but a heavy touch allows England to hack clear.

6'  Austrian skipper Andreas Ivanschitz unleashes a powerful volley straight into Lescott. The hosts' shouts for a penalty are dismissed.

5'  Peter Crouch is looking dominant in the air, using his extra height to win a number of flick ons for England.

4'  Lampard, recalled in place of Gareth Barry, delivers a decent cross into the box but Joe Cole does not react.

3'  Carson, making his England debut, gets an early feel of the ball when he confidently plucks a cross from the night sky.

1'  Gerrard, skipper in place of John Terry, sprays a 40 yard pass to Beckham, a move which results in a corner to England.

1'  Austria, decked in red shirts and white shorts, kick off and launch an early attack with is ended when Kuljic is flagged offside.
