England Under-21s midfielder Jack Cork left hospital on Tuesday after undergoing tests following the Three Lions defeat to Iceland at Deepdale.
The on-loan Burnley man was substituted at half time in Preston on Monday night after feeling unwell during the first half and was taken straight to hospital where he was assessed.
"He had palpitations in the first half and said he wasn't feeling so well so we have taken him to hospital just for precautionary status," said Coach Stuart Pearce after the game.
"That is as far as I know at the moment but obviously our doctors will be in contact with the hospital."
The 21-year-old was discharged and Burnley FC have confirmed that he will continue to be assessed by club medical staff before returning to training.
