Kyle Walker is confident England Under-21s can overcome Czech Republic in Viborg on Sunday night and take their place in the UEFA Championship semi-finals.

England need all three points to leapfrog the Czechs into one of the top two spots in Group B and having drawn both of their opening games Walker now believes the Three Lions will step up to deliver victory.

“The lads in the changing room are more than capable of beating any team and the centre forwards, their joy will come," he said. "It’s only a matter of time and once we get one we’ll go from strength to strength.

"I came here to win the tournament not to get knocked out in the group stage, so I think we have enough to beat Czech Republic and hopefully we do.”

The Spurs defender is also getting rave reviews in Denmark following a stunning display against Spain and an assist for Danny Welbeck's late equaliser. He's even been likened to Brazilian full-back Roberto Carlos.

“I’m hearing it a lot to be fair and I had a few text messages from my friends about the papers, but I just try and play to my strengths.

“To be in the same sentence as Roberto Carlos is a great achievement, but I try and play to my strengths and just learn from people like that and the coaching staff, and what they tell me I need to improve on."

“I’ve just turned 21 and there is always room for improvement. I’m still learning the game, and I’m a defender, so I want to learn off defenders, and how they think I can improve.

"As a full-back I think you need attacking sense in the game nowadays, but to create goals is a bonus, I get paid to defend."

And after a good second half of the season on loan at Aston Villa, which earned him a call-up to Fabio Capello's senior squad, Walker is hoping success in Denmark

“It’s a privilege and an honour to have been called up to the first team, where I was on the bench. It was a bit disappointing that I didn’t get on but hopefully there are more opportunities for me, and I want a showcase and show people what I can, and the Under-21s now is a great opportunity."
