Stuart Pearce is looking forward to meeting up with his Under-21s squad at St. George’s Park on Sunday for what will be a significant week for Club England.

Not only will Pearce’s Young Lions be preparing for a game against Sweden in Walsall on Tuesday night, but on Sunday evening The FA England Awards take place at the national football centre.

The inaugural event will celebrate all 24 England teams as eleven awards will be dished out in recognition of achievements in 2012.

And then on Monday the Under-21s will train alongside Roy Hodgson’s seniors and Noel Blake’s U19s, who also have fixtures this week.

It’s the first time St. George’s Park’s amazing facilities have seen three England teams work side by side, an opportunity to bring to life the ‘club ethos’ that was envisaged.

But, as Pearce says, it was all part of the plan when the 330-acre centre was first dreamed up.

“To have all your best talent at senior, Under-21s and U19s level all together is exactly the vision The FA had when they began planning for St. George's Park,” said the former England left-back.

“Days like Sunday, for the awards dinner, and on Monday, when we're all training, will literally bring it all together.”

“I've spoken to Roy this week and it may be that he needs a player to supplement one of his sessions, so will pick someone from the Under-21s squad. We might use a player from the senior squad.

“That is the kind of thing you'd get at club level. There has been many stories down the years when a player steps up in training, gets the eye of the first team manager and he stays in the first team."

He added: “The opportunity to do that, for players to see each other around the hotel, will be really positive and, hopefully, inspirational.

“A lot of our players have been in the senior team, but it’s the utopia really and so it should be like that.”
