Ahead of England Under-21s upcoming Euro 2013 Qualifiers next month, Coach Stuart Pearce has named a 27-man squad for the tough away double-header in Iceland and Norway.

The Three Lions started the campaign in emphatic fashion with a 6-0 victory over Azerbaijan at Watford earlier in September, and also benefited from a 4-1 friendly win against Finals hosts Israel in Barnsley four days later. Now Pearce is preparing for trips to Reyjavik and Drammen as he looks to take a stranglehold on Group 8.

England take on Iceland on Thursday 6 October (KO 7.45pm BST) before moving on to their fixture with Norway on Monday 11 October (KO 6.00pm BST)

Pearce's squad sees the return from injury of Liverpool's Martin Kelly and Tottenham Hotspur's Danny Rose, while Manchester United pair Danny Welbeck and Phil Jones have also been called upon.

The Coach also brings in two new faces, with Blackburn Rovers Jason Lowe, who was in the U20s World Cup squad in Colombia in August, and Peterborough United defender Ryan Bennett winning first chances at this level.

"Our start to the campaign earlier this month couldn’t have gone any better really," Pearce told TheFA.com. "If you win any two matches at international level 6-0 and 4-1 you have to be delighted.

"There were some very good performances within those games, the new-look squad gelled very well together.

"It’s only been three weeks since we were together so to have another week-long get-together so close is really good for us. The work starts in earnest now, with two away games coming up it’s important we get what we can on the road and preferably come back unbeaten."

Pearce added: "They are going to both be very difficult matches and important for all teams concerned.

"We felt from the outset of this group that everyone will take points from one another, and after Iceland beat Belgium and then lost to Norway it’s looking like that will be the case.

"The games will coming thick and fast, we've got these two next week, then a month later we have a game at Colchester against Iceland and one in Belgium. By the middle of November the group will be starting to really take shape."
