Stuart Pearce has added three players to his Under-21 squad for their upcoming games after injuries and a Senior Team call-up saw three players pull out.
After Theo Walcott's training ground injury for Arsenal on Friday, captain Steven Taylor also picked up an injury during Newcastle's 3-1 defeat to the Gunners on Saturday.
There was good news, however, as Aaron Lennon, who has been in good form for Tottenham Hotspur of late, was named in Fabio Capello's Senior squad for their games against Slovakia and Ukraine.
So, with three players missing from the original 25-man squad named last week, Pearce has called in defensive cover in the shape of Stoke City's Ryan Shawcross and Portsmouth's Martin Cranie.
In addition, Aston Villa striker Gabriel Agbonlahor has also joined up with the squad.
