Sylvan Ebanks-Blake and Ryan Shawcross have been forced out of the England Under-21s squad due to injury.
Stuart Pearce's side face two tough games in the next few days, first a trip to Norway then a home game with France at Nottingham Forest.
After seeing Theo Walcott's and captain Steven Taylor withdraw previously, in addition to Aaron Lennon's inclusion in the Senior squad, Pearce had called in Stoke defender Shawcross as cover, along with Martin Cranie and Gabriel Agbonlahor.
