Lions slip to Dutch defeat

There was no answer to the Netherlands for Noel Blake's side in Putten.
England U19s slipped to defeat against the Dutch on Tuesday evening as they played their final match before May's UEFA Championship Elite Qualifying Round games in Switzerland.
Head Coach Noel Blake spoke of using this game to weigh up his options ahead of those matches and he will no doubt have food for thought now after seeing his side lose by three goals in Putten.
The Young Lions fell behind after 20 minutes when striker Luc Castaignos put the hosts ahead and they held onto that lead until the break.
Castaignos added a second for his team shortly before the hour mark before Ola John completed the scoring in the 79th minute.
All 18 players in the squad featured during the game, with seven substitutions made after half-time including England debuts for Spurs midfielder Tom Carroll and defender Ryan Fredericks and Nottingham Forest defender Jamaal Lascelles.
