England U19s will play their final match before May’s Elite Qualifying Round on home soil in March.

Noel Blake’s squad take on Turkey in Telford, as preparations for the games against Belgium, Scotland and Georgia continue.

And with the squad based at St. George’s Park, it’s a return to the New Bucks Head Stadium for the Young Lions who beat Finland there last November.

Captain John Lundstram scored the winner that night in front of an impressive crowd in Shropshire and the Everton youngster is one player who will be hoping to be part of the squad again as England target a place in the Euro Finals in Lithuania this summer.

The notoriously tough Elite Qualifying Round has to be negotiated first though, with only one team from the four involved in England’s group progressing into the last eight.

With three games in five days in Belgium, Head Coach Blake knows his players will need to be ready for that challenge.

He said: “This will be our final preparation game before the Elite Round.

”It’s an important stage of the competition and the season. We all want to be in the Finals and that’s why these games are so important.”

The U19s are next in action on 6 February when they face Denmark at the Keepmoat Stadium in Doncaster.
