Michael Keane has been tipped for a bright future with Manchester United by his Old Trafford squad-mate Jonny Evans ahead of this week's League Cup tie with Newcastle United.
Keane is amongst a number of young players likely to be used by Reds boss Sir Alex Ferguson in the game and Evans could be paired with the 19-year-old in defence against Alan Pardew's side at Old Trafford on Wednesday night.
The Stockport-born starlet was one of England's top performers towards the end of last season, helping Noel Blake's squad to qualify for the European U19 Championship Finals along with his twin brother Will, who was unfortunately injured in
the final qualifier against Switzerland and is still sidelined with the same knee injury.
"I have been very impressed with Michael," admitted Evans ahead of the Third Round clash.
"Over the past couple of years his brother has been getting more of the headlines, but I have been really impressed with Michael when he has stepped up into training with us. I can see him getting a bit of a run out if things go well."
Keane had previously represented Republic Of Ireland at U17 level, before he was selected by Blake last May for the Elite Qualifying Round and then the Finals in Estonia.
