UEFA European U19 Championships
The Finals
18-30 July 2010
Normandy, France

The draw has been made for this summer's European U19 Championship Finals, and England will face opposition in their group from hosts France, Netherlands and Austria.

Head Coach Noel Blake was present for the unseeded draw, held at the City Hall in Caen, northern France and made by former France coach Michel Hidalgo, France Under-21 star Sebastien Corchia and UEFA's Reinhard Walser. Now, Blake will now be able to start preparing for the competition after guiding his team through two qualification rounds beginning back in October and then more recently in May.

This is the third successive year that the Young Lions have reached the last eight of the competition following Czech Republic in 2008 and Ukraine in 2009, where they reached the Final last year, only to lose out on the title against the hosts.

The group games will be held on 18, 21 and 24 July and will take place in Caen, Mondeville, Flers, Saint-Lô and Bayeux. Further details of the fixtures will be announced next week.

Group A - France, Netherlands, Austria, England

Group B - Croatia, Spain, Italy, Portugal

What Do You Think?

  • Tough group, but then they both look hard work! Hopefully play Austria first, try and get a win before the other two. Taking the lads for a trip to the Bayeux Tapestry?!? Come on England!By Liono (35 months ago)
