England U19s hope to secure their place in the Finals of European Championship next week when they host the Elite Round qualifiers in Yorkshire.

Brian Eastick named his initial squad for the three games a fortnight ago, but he has been forced into making a number of changes ahead of the squad meet-up for the games this weekend.

Due to both injuries and club commitments, five players have been withdrawn and replaced as preparations begin for the first match on Wednesday evening against Bosnia-Herzegovina in Doncaster.

The first to be withdrawn was Huddersfield Town goalkeeper Alex Smithies, whose place has now been taken by Declan Rudd of Norwich City.

In defence, Kyle Walker of Sheffield United will miss out on the chance to represent the Young Lions against Scotland on his home turf due to being involved in United’s squad for their Championship Play-Off Final. His place will be taken by Arsenal's Gavin Hoyte, who has no shortage of experience having played in all of the U19 games to date this season.

Fellow defender Nathan Baker of Aston Villa has been withdrawn due to injury and he has been replaced by Fulham’s Matthew Briggs.

Sunderland winger Jordan Henderson is another player whose unfortunate injury means that Tottenham Hotspur’s Andros Townsend has been called up.

Finally, striker Daniel Welbeck will be unable to link up as he will be with the Manchester United squad in Rome for their Champions League Final against Barcelona. His place has gone to Martyn Waghorn of Sunderland.

Tickets are on sale for all three of England’s games, so for full details on how to be there to cheer the Young Lions on, click here.
