Under-19 International Match
Germany v England
Tuesday 30 March 2004
Celle, Germany
Kick-Off: 18.30hrs (local time)
Dick Bate has announced his England Under-19 squad to travel to Germany at the end of this month.
The game, to be played in Celle on March 30, is England's last friendly before the 2nd Qualifying Round for the European Championships takes place in Slovenia in April.
England come into the game in good form, having convincingly qualified through the first round of matches before going on to defeat Ruud Gullit's Dutch Under-19 side 2-0 in a friendly last month.
However, Bate will be taking nothing for granted against the Germans.
"This is our last game before we return to competitive action next month and, with only the winners of the group qualifying for the finals in Switzerland, we cannot afford to be anything other than on top of our game. A game against Germany, who are always opponents to be respected, is the ideal preparation."
Richard Chaplow, who recently made his debut for David Platt's Under-21 side, returns to the Under-19 fold for this game, while Aaron Lennon (Leeds), Ryan Jarvis (Norwich), and Luke Moore (Aston Villa) provide a forward line that looks to be brimful of goals.
Here is that England squad:
