Wolves defender Mark Little returns to Crewe next week with England with pleasant memories of the Alexandra Stadium.
The determined and energetic defender has come on leaps and bounds this season with his club, and victory over Crewe in a preseason friendly was an important part of that progression.
"I've played a couple of times at Crewe, most recently in the pre-season when we won 3-1," Mark told TheFA.com.
"It's a nice ground and there's always a good atmosphere because the stands are closed in, the benches are in the stand as well, the fans seem really close to the pitch."
Mark also felt proud that wherever England's youth teams play, they always get big crowds following them.
"It's anyone who likes watching football really, kids who want to see a good match are always there - if the England Youth teams are playing we always get good crowds.
"It's a privilege and an honour to pull on an England shirt, and since I've been training with England, not only does it give you more confidence, it gives you that drive to keep improving and make it into the next squad."
After being part of the Wolverhampton Wanderers youth team that missed out on The FA Youth Cup Final in 2005 on penalties, Mark has made the step up to the first team and is looking to be involved as much as he can.
"The more experience I can get the better, for defenders it's more experience that you need really to progress," Mark explained.
"For Wolves it's going very well at the minute, I'm doing everything I want to do this season. I'm trying to break through into the first team and we're doing quite well in the league.
"The progression this year has been great, I'm doing quite well as far as senior matches so far.
"There's Jackie McNamara who I can look up to, as he is a right back, and Gary Breen who I learn quite a lot from as a defender and a leader."
