England U17s began to put the final pieces in place for their UEFA European U17s Championship Finals opener on Sunday, as they took their first training session since arriving in Serbia.
After a long day of travelling across Europe, the squad were given chance to rest on Saturday but were quickly brought up to speed on a drizzly May Day morning in Novi Sad.
Training at the home of Serbian second division club FK Proleter, Exercise Scientist Neil Gibson made sure the players were fully warmed-up for the session before Head Coach
John Peacock and Assistant Coach
Kenny Swain took over. Meanwhile, goalkeepers
Jordan Pickford and
Ben Garratt trained separately with Goalkeeping Coach Simon Smith before joining the full group for the second-half of the session.
The full squad took part in the session, with the exception of Liverpool forward
Raheem Sterling, who joins up with the squad on Sunday evening.
England have their first game of the Finals on Tuesday afternoon when they play France at FK Indjija in what will no doubt be a tough opening to the tournament as Peacock's squad aim to become only the third team to successfully defend their trophy.
