The FA International U17 Tournament
25-29 August 2010
England, Australia, Portugal, Turkey
at Grimsby Town FC, Lincoln City FC and Scunthorpe United FC
Ticket prices for all three England games are £3 for adults and £1 for concessions

International football is heading to Lincolnshire next month as Lincoln City, Grimsby Town and Scunthorpe United all prepare to host England U17 fixtures.

The annual FA International U17 Tournament will once again see Portugal and Turkey providing the Young Lions with stern opposition, as they did last season, with Australia completing the quartet.

These three matches, coupled with participation in next week’s Nordic Tournament, will provide John Peacock’s latest raft of talented youngsters with the perfect preparation for their maiden appearance in a UEFA competition; in October, they will travel to Georgia for the First Qualifying Round of the U17 Euros, a title their predecessors won in May.

Portugal and Australia will get the International Tournament underway at Glanford Park (Scunthorpe United FC) on Wednesday 25 August and England will begin their campaign against Turkey at Sincil Bank (Lincoln City FC) later that day.

Blundell Park (Grimsby Town FC) will stage England’s game against Australia two days later and Glanford Park will bring the tournament to a close on Sunday 29 August.

Portugal won last season’s tournament, though a Chuks Aneke strike saw England beat the Portuguese 1-0 at Meadow Lane. Click on the video on the right to watch highlights from this match.

What Do You Think?

  • Could the FA put a decent highlight package of each of the England games like say 25 minutes instead of the usual 5 minutes for people who cannot get to the gamesBy anonymous (33 months ago)
