England beat France on penalties to regain Montaigu Tournament title.
England have regained the Montaigu Tournament title after beating France on penalties in the final.
Last season's batch of U16 internationals narrowly lost out to Portugal in this competition, again after a penalty shoot-out, but this year's intake went one better, allowing captain Ryan Inniss to lift the Montaigu trophy.
Kenny Swain's side reached the final by topping their four-team group with seven points. They beat Uruguay 5-0 and United Arab Emirates 3-2 before a goalless draw against Guinea on Saturday.
This win over France rounds off a successful campaign for the England U16 team because last month they also lifted the Victory Shield for the tenth straight year. Next up for these Young Lions is the Nordic Tournament during the close season.
