England U16s will continue their Sky Sports Victory Shield campaign in late October when they face Wales at Cheltenham Town’s Whaddon Road home in their second fixture of the 2011 competition.

Kenny Swain’s Young Lions play their first match of the Shield early next month when they host Northern Ireland in the opener at Chesterfield’s B2Net Stadium on 12 October so their second fixture follows swiftly on the back of that game.

It’s the first time that an England team have been back to Whaddon Road since the U17s played Italy there in 2005.

On that occasion, England lost by 2-1 with the likes of Daniel Sturridge, Theo Walcott, James Tomkins and Jack Cork all lining up for the Three Lions.

England have won the Victory Shield for the last ten years running, so Swain will be hoping to continue that trend this year whilst also aiding the international development of the young players at his disposal.
