Despite the efforts of the ground staff at Crusaders FC, tonight’s Victory Shield match between Northern Ireland and England has been postponed.

Northern Ireland has been awash with snow over the last few days and there was a layer of ice under Crusaders’ 4G pitch, deeming it unplayable.

It is the second time this fixture has been postponed, following the waterlogged pitch at The Oval, home of Glentoran FC, in November.

Talks are now in place between The FA, the Irish FA and the Schools’ Association Football International Board (SAFIB) as to when this game can now take place.

What Do You Think?

  • Could the match not been called off earlier to prevent people travelling from England to watch?By anonymous (28 months ago)
  • Is there anywhere in N.Ireland that has under soil heating. That would have solved the whole problem.By JJ (28 months ago)
