19-24 March 2008
Montaigu, France

The England U16 squad travel to France later this month to partake in the international tournament in Montaigu.

Kenny Swain's team will face games against Japan, Germany and the USA in their group games in the competition before taking place in a play-off game or hopefully the Final.

Arsenal's Luke Freeman is called up for the first time, but aside from that, the squad contains players who have featured throughout the season so far in the Victory Shield games and then the friendly match against the Netherlands in February, which was narrowly lost by 2-1.

After flying out to western France on Monday 17 March, the Young Lions begin the tournament with a game against Japan in Le Poire Sur Vie on Wednesday 19 March.

That is followed by an evening match with Germany, again in Le Poire Sur Vie, on Thursday 20 March.

Their final Group B match is against the USA in Les Brouzils on Saturday 22 March.

A final game will see England face one of the teams from Group A, against either France, Mexico, China or Ivory Coast, in a play-off or the Final and this will take place on Monday 24 March.
