Kenny Swain names his England U16 squad for the Montaigu Tournament in April.
The Montaigu Tournament
8 April - 13 April 2009
Montaigu, France
Kenny Swain has named his England U16 squad for the Montaigu Tournament in April.
Swain will hope his current crop of youngsters can retain the title their predecessors won 12 months ago, beating France in the Final.
The U16s will travel to Montaigu with high hopes, having lifted the Victory Shield in November. A friendly match against Germany, scheduled for February, was called off due to adverse weather conditions, but Swain turned this trip into a training camp for Montaigu with the majority of that squad selected once more.
He has called up two new players in Arsenal's Nicholas Yennaris and Blackburn's Alex Billington, with Manchester United providing four players, the most from any one club.
England's Montaigu campaign gets underway on 8 April when they take on Russia. Twenty four hours later they face United Arab Emirates before concluding their group stage matches against Ivory Coast.
All four teams will be vying for a place in the Final on 13 April against France, Australia, Germany or Mali.
