Manager Paul Fairclough has been named as September's League Two Manager Of The Month.
England C and Barnet manager Paul Fairclough has been named as the Coca Cola League Two’s Manager of the Month for September.
Fairclough landed the award after his team won three and drew the other two of their five September games and then the Bees then took this excellent form into October with further wins over Wycombe Wanderers and Stockport County.
The run leaves the Underhill outfit sat in sixth place in the table and Fairclough was modest in his success, praising members of the whole team as well as his management staff of Ian Hendon and Mark Stein.
“The players have obviously played their part, as have the supporters,” he said.
“People don’t realise what a tight-knit club we are, but the collectiveness shown by the players and fans runs right through the club.”
Fairclough has overseen a steady improvement in the fortunes of the north London club since leading them back into the Football League in 2005.
He added: “It’s been steady progress since winning promotion, not just in the league, but with some good Cup runs too.
“We didn’t start this season too well in terms of results, but this didn’t affect the lads and we have come through this difficult spell with some excellent results.
“We have already played all four of the sides relegated from League One last season and to beat three of them in September was a real achievement.”
Aside from League Two though, Fairclough will soon be turning his attentions to the international scene as the time nears for the announcement of the England C squad for their tricky International Challenge Trophy opener with Finland in Helsinki in November.
