Profile
Fara started playing football at the age of seven. As a Chelsea fan, she responded to a club advert to play in their Under-14s team. Fara flew through the trials and ten years later, she was - with a hat-trick on her debut – a regular within the senior side.
She made her Senior debut for England against Portugal away at just 17 years old coming on as a substitute and she scored a free-kick in the return fixture – on her full debut – in front of 9,000 fans at Fratton Park, Portsmouth. At this time, she was still a regular for the U19s who she went on to captain, and earn over 20 caps.
Fara captained the U19s side against in the UEFA U19 European Championships in 2003 where she secured the Player of the Match against Sweden, and helped England to the semi finals where they eventually bowed out to France.
Fara missed much of the 2002-03 season with a back injury, but through regular rehabilitation work she returned to give an added boost to both club and country.
Fara is a competitive midfielder with an explosive shot, scoring a number of goals for club and country including a memorable hat-trick during England's 6-1 win en route to qualifying for Euro 2009. All three goals came from more than 20 yards out. She started every match in the Euros, scoring twice in the process and captained England to semi-final victory over Holland.
