England Under-21 Coach Stuart Pearce believes the main threat to his Young Lions against Montenegro tomorrow night comes from themselves.

Having already beaten the same opponents 3-0 away from home three weeks ago, England could be forgiven for being fairly confident of wrapping up another win at the Walkers Stadium.

But Pearce has told his side not to take anything for granted and believes they will face a tough test against a nation whose dreams of qualifying for the 2009 UEFA European Under-21 Championship will be all but over should they lose.

"Our main concern is complacency, and we have to guard against that,” said Pearce.

"Everyone who plays in this squad has to play well to get an opportunity to play in the next game, so the competition is quite fierce in the squad.

"But the main thing is complacency. Just because you’ve beaten a team doesn’t mean you will again.

"They’ll be fired up and looking forward to coming and playing at Leicester. We know we’re in for a tough game.

"We have had two good results, and we’re playing one of those teams that we’ve had a good result against, so you have to fear complacency. But we also want to go out and put a show on if we possibly can.

"Everyone hopes to get an early goal in the game, maybe draw them out a little bit, but we know that football throws up many different equations during a game and if we have to be patient, we’ll be patient.

"Away from home we scored early, and we feel that we have the pace and ability to score goals at home as well."
