England Under-21 midfielder Tom Huddlestone has come in for strong praise from Martin Jol following a succession of impressive performances for Tottenham Hotspur from the powerful 20-year old.

Huddlestone has been an ever-present for England U21s this season, helping the Young Lions to the UEFA European U21 Championship in Holland this summer, and has also maintained a consistent place at the heart of the Spurs midfield.

Huddlestone has been playing a key role in a busy schedule for Tottenham in recent weeks, with the North London club competing in the League Cup, UEFA Cup and the Premier League, and Martin Jol has revealed just how significant he has become.

Jol told Tottenham Hotspur's official website: "We have great talents. For example, I would not swap Tom Huddlestone for anyone else in England at the moment."

With Spurs set to begin participation in a fourth competition, The FA Cup this weekend with a trip to Cardiff, it is set to be a big year with club and country for Huddlestone.

After captaining England U21s in their recent friendly with Holland, in the absence of Nigel Reo-Coker, Huddlestone will be eager to maintain his impressive form when the U21s take on Spain at Pride Park on 6 February.

With the Young Lions preparing for the European Championship in June, the first game of 2007 will be an important step towards their first finals in five years. You can be at Pride Park to watch the match by Clicking Here
