England's Under-21s will play their European Championship play-off home leg against Germany at Coventry City's Ricoh Arena on Friday 6 October - and tickets are now on sale for the 8pm kick-off.

Peter Taylor's team play the return leg at the BayArena in Leverkusen on Tuesday 10 October, with kick-off at 8.15pm local time.

England sealed their passage to the final stage of qualification with a dramatic away 3-2 win over Switzerland in Lucerne on Wednesday 6 September, which saw them top a three-team group which also included Moldova.

Germany topped their mini-group with a 3-2 win away to Northern Ireland and a 5-1 win at home to Romania.

Peter Taylor said: "The Ricoh Arena is a magnificent new stadium and the perfect venue for a big match like this. England - Germany is a classic at any level and we know from last year how tough it will be. Germany always produce powerful, well-organised and technically accomplished teams that are very hard to beat.

"However, we're full of confidence after a great away win against a very good Swiss team and are looking to carry that form forward into the play-offs. Hopefully with a big, passionate crowd behind us we can get off to a winning start."

The other play-offs are Serbia v Sweden, Czech Republic v Bosnia-Herzegovina, Russia v Portugal, France v Israel, Italy v Spain and Belgium v Bulgaria. The winners join hosts Holland in the eight-team finals tournament in June next year.

England have played Germany five times at Under-21 level since re-unification, winning twice and drawing three times. The two countries last came head to head in the qualification group for this year's European Championship, drawing 2-2 in Hull and 1-1 in Mainz.

Tickets are now on sale from the Ricoh Arena ticket office. Tickets are priced at £10 for adults and £5 for concessions (under-16s, Senior Citizens).
