Remaining tickets go on sale at White Hart Lane at 6pm on Friday evening.

With ticket sales over the 30,000-mark for England's Under-21s play-off match against France at White Hart Lane on Friday (kick-off 7.30pm), Peter Taylor's team are on target to play in front of a record crowd at this level. Capacity at White Hart Lane is 36,240.

Tickets sales have been amazing, so much so fans that still without tickets can now only buy them at Spurs before the game.

6,000 tickets will be available for sale on the gate from 6.00pm on Friday evening. Whether you already have a ticket to the game, have one to pick up or want to try your buy one at the gate, you should arrive as early as possible to avoid the potential record-breaking crowds.

The biggest attendance to date for an Under-21s match was 33,184 at Derby County's Pride Park Stadium on 8 February this year, when Holland were the visitors. Pride Park also held the previous record attendance, when 32,865 fans roared England to victory over France in February 1999.

"No other country gets behind their U21s team the way the English football public do, and to play in front of a record crowd at White Hart Lane would really lift the team," said Taylor.

"Our confidence is already high despite some injuries and the fans can expect to see some exciting attacking football from both teams. France will be a tough proposition but we have the ability and self-belief to beat them."

The return leg takes place at the Stade Marcel Picot in Nancy on Tuesday 15 November, with kick-off at 8pm UK time.

Victory over the two legs would see England progress to next year's finals, which will be played between 24 May and 06 June. The host country will be announced when all eight qualified teams are known.

Newcastle United defender Steven Taylor and Charlton's Jerome Thomas have withdrawn from the squad with shoulder and hamstring injuries respectively.

If you miss out of tickets to the game, both legs will be screened live on Sky Sports.
